The new Europe-wide harmonisation of the ATEX directive, applicable since 1 July 2003, affects the required safety measures in potentially explosive areas. Only new devices and aggregates that are designed according to this directive may be designed, build and tested.
Kissling has trained its employees in all areas to ensure the efficient and competent implementation of the ATEX directive. New drive systems are implemented and existing gear units adapted to the current explosion protection directives.
Similar to the EC Machinery Directive, the ATEX directive is applied to system operator components, aggregates and systems for explosive areas. Depending on the area of application, a defined conformity assessment procedure is carried out.
In this procedure, the components, aggregates as well as systems are assessed in terms of their potential for ignition. In case of a potential hazard, the parts or processes must be improved accordingly. This is required to obtain the CE marking and fulfil the conformity declaration in accordance with the current version of the ATEX directive.
The flexibility and commitment of the specialists at Kissling make it possible to efficiently implement the projects in potentially explosive production environments. Kissling provides support in assessing existing systems in cooperation with customers. Kissling recommends and implements the necessary adjustments to the powertrain.
Several successfully implemented projects confirm the expertise and experience of Kissling in this critical area.
